Itinerary

The tour in detail

We will meet at 9:00 AM at Terra BikeTours in Barcelona and drive for approximately two hours to Puigcerdà.

After a light lunch and getting changed into our cycling kit, we’ll head out for a warm-up ride on the winding secondary roads of the French Pyrenees, passing through charming villages such as Montlouis, Eyne, and Llo.

Dinner will be at a local restaurant, where we’ll enjoy mountain products and regional cuisine.

Route: 50 km / 800 m
Meals: Lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Mas San Marc

Puigcerdà – Ripoll

The day starts strong with the climb up the Collada de Toses to Coll de la Creueta (1,920 m), one of the highest yet most rideable mountain passes in the area and the gateway to the La Molina ski resort.

After a long descent, we’ll arrive in Ripoll.

Route: 72 km / 1,200 m
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Boutique Hotel La Trobada

Ripoll – Banyoles

After a few warm-up kilometres, we’ll begin the first climb of the day. The route takes us through medieval villages such as Beget, Oix, and Besalú, passing Castellfollit de la Roca, where we’ll admire the area’s volcanic landscape.

We’ll finish the day in Banyoles, enjoying a sunset stroll by the lake.

Route: 100 km / 1,700 m
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: La Carpa de l’Estany

Banyoles – Figueres

Today we climb to Mare de Déu del Mont, a long and steady ascent offering panoramic views over the entire region — from the Pyrenean peaks to the Mediterranean Sea. A perfect opportunity to take in the full scope of the journey.

In the afternoon, you may visit the Dalí Museum, located just a few kilometres from our hotel.
The visit is not included in the tour, but we can organise it for you.

Route: 60 km / 1,200 m
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Mas Bosch 1526

Figueres – Cadaqués

Today’s route highlights the contrasts of the journey. We ride across the Empordà wine region before climbing the Col de Banyuls and descending into France.

We then follow the coastline, passing fishing villages such as Portbou and Port de la Selva, until reaching Cadaqués — the beautiful white village that was once home to Salvador Dalí.

Route: 90 km / 1,400 m
Meals: Breakfast, lunch. Dinner free in Cadaqués
Accommodation: Hotel Blaumar

Cadaqués – Girona

We say goodbye to the coast and head inland towards Girona, where our journey comes to an end.

Along the way, we’ll visit Castelló d’Empúries and its 13th-century basilica. Most of the day unfolds along quiet secondary roads with rolling terrain until we reach Madremanya, where we face the final challenge of the trip: the climb to Santuari dels Àngels, Girona’s most famous ascent and a true cycling paradise.

After some rest and free time to explore Girona’s old town, we’ll celebrate the end of the tour with a well-earned pizza!
