Few rides pack as much of southern Spain into one week as Granada to Ronda. This self-guided cycling tour of Andalusia starts under the snowy Sierra Nevada, crosses olive country and thermal spa towns, stops in Antequera, the “heart of Andalusia”, and finishes on the cliffs of Ronda, with quiet secondary roads all the way.

Day by day
Day 1 · Arrival in Granada and warm-up ride
25 km · 400 m
Bike fitting and a welcome briefing, then an easy spin through the Vega de Granada to open the legs, with the Sierra Nevada as a backdrop. Save the evening for the Albaicín and its views of the Alhambra.

Day 2 · Granada to Alhama de Granada
60 km · 600 m
Open countryside and rolling olive groves lead to the gorge of Alhama de Granada. Tonight you sleep in a historic thermal spa hotel, the perfect place to soak tired legs.
Day 3 · Alhama de Granada to Antequera
66 km · 900 m
The most complete day of the trip: wide landscapes, empty back roads and a steady build of elevation into Antequera. The night is at the Parador de Antequera.
Day 4 · Antequera to the Guadalhorce reservoirs
45 km · 1,600 m
Short in distance but not in effort. Limestone scenery and natural park roads take you to the turquoise lakes of the Guadalhorce, a peaceful place to stay.
Day 5 · Guadalhorce to Ronda (queen stage)
950 m of climbing
Rolling terrain and long climbs lead to one of Spain’s great cycling towns. The arrival in Ronda, with the Puente Nuevo over the gorge, is the finale this trip deserves. Sleep at the Parador de Ronda.

Day 6 · Transfer to Málaga
A private transfer takes you and your luggage to Málaga airport. Or add a night in Málaga to finish the week on the beach.

When to go and who it is for
Andalusia is a spring and autumn destination: February to June and September to November bring mild temperatures and green or golden landscapes, while July and August are too hot for comfortable riding. Daily distances are short, so any regular cyclist can enjoy it; the climbing on days 4 and 5 is where an e-bike makes sense if you want an easier ride.
