Southern Catalonia is one of Spain’s best-kept cycling secrets. This self-guided e-bike tour loops from modernist Reus through the vineyard country of the Costa Daurada hinterland, near the Montsant and Priorat wine regions, and climbs into the forests of the Prades Mountains, sleeping in rural hotels and mountain lodges.

Day by day
Day 1 · Arrival in Reus and warm-up
20 km · 400 m
Check in at Hotel Centre Reus and enjoy an easy spin on quiet rolling roads, then explore the town’s modernist architecture.
Day 2 · Reus to Rodonyà
60 km · 700 m
Inland roads lined with vineyards, olive groves and Catalan villages lead to a charming rural hotel in Rodonyà.

Day 3 · Rodonyà to Vilaverd
66 km · 750 m
Flowing secondary roads, steady climbs and agricultural valleys to Vilaverd, a small village at the foot of the Prades Mountains.
Day 4 · Vilaverd to Prades (queen stage)
40 km · 1,100 m
Short but demanding: a climb into the forests and cooler air of the Prades Mountains, rewarded with big views and a cosy mountain stay in Prades, the “red village”.

Day 5 · Prades to Riudecanyes
53 km · 650 m
A long descent out of the mountains and rolling countryside to the Riudecanyes reservoir, on the doorstep of the Priorat.
Day 6 · Riudecanyes to Reus
70 km · 1,000 m
The most complete stage of the week, with steady climbs and smooth descents to close the loop in Reus.
Day 7 · Departure
Breakfast and goodbye, or add an extra night to visit Priorat wineries or the coast.

When to go and who it is for
Spring and autumn are best; in September and October the vineyards are in harvest. With an e-bike the climbs feel easy, so this is a great trip for couples or friends of different levels who want to enjoy wine, food and empty roads.
