Itinerary
The tour in detail
Day 1 – Barcelona to Tossa de Mar
Your adventure begins in Barcelona, leaving the vibrant city behind as you follow the coastline north. Ride through picturesque seaside towns and pine-lined roads with stunning Mediterranean views. The route offers gentle climbs and rewarding descents as you approach the Costa Brava. Arrive in Tossa de Mar, a charming coastal village known for its medieval walls.
Accommodation Example: Hotel Reymar Superior 4*
Distance: 60 km Elevation: 900 m
Day 2 – Tossa de Mar to Torroella de MontgrÃ
Today’s ride takes you deeper into the Costa Brava, passing dramatic cliffs and hidden beaches. Enjoy a mix of coastal and inland scenery as you pedal through traditional Catalan villages. The terrain is varied but rewarding, with plenty of scenic stops along the way. End your day in Torroella de MontgrÃ, nestled at the foot of the Montgrà Massif.
Accommodation Example: Palau Lo MiradorÂ
Distance: 55 km | Elevation: 600 m
Day 3 – Torroella de Montgrà to Cadaqués
Leaving the coast temporarily, the ride crosses fertile plains and natural reserves, including areas of wetlands and rice fields that contrast with previous days. The landscape gradually becomes wilder as you approach the Cap de Creus Natural Park, where the terrain turns rocky and exposed. The final approach to Cadaqués is particularly memorable, with panoramic views over the sea and a descent into one of the most picturesque villages in Spain. The town’s artistic heritage and serene atmosphere make it a highlight of the journey.
Accommodation Example: Hotel Blaumar
Distance: 66 km | Elevation: 650 m
Day 4 – Cadaqués to Figueres
The route turns inland, offering a quieter and more contemplative ride through vineyards, olive groves, and gently rolling hills. This transition reveals a different side of Catalonia, where agricultural traditions and open landscapes dominate. Roads are typically less trafficked, allowing for a more relaxed pace and connection with the surroundings. Arrival in Figueres introduces a cultural highlight, with the opportunity to explore the surreal world of Salvador Dalà and the town’s lively atmosphere.
Accommodation Example: Hotel Mas Bosch 1526
Distance: 50 km | Elevation: 600 m
Day 5 – Figueres to Girona
The final stage follows smooth, scenic roads through the Empordà region toward Girona. The terrain is more forgiving, making for an enjoyable and reflective end to the tour. Along the way, riders pass through small villages and cultivated fields, experiencing the everyday rhythm of rural Catalonia.
Girona welcomes you with its beautifully preserved medieval center, narrow cobbled streets, and vibrant food scene, providing the perfect setting to conclude the journey.
Accommodation Example: Hotel Històric 4*
Distance: 60 km | Elevation: 700 m

What our clients have to say about us
Posted on Josh Fields6 February 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Incredible resource within the heart of Barcelona. Plenty of well-maintained road and gravel bikes for rent set to fulfill any cycling need you may have. Pump, levers, tube, hex wrench, all included to ensure a safe ride. Helmets and varying pedals are for rent as well. Shop folks were graciously helpful, and ensured I'd had an enjoyable route up in the mountains. If you're looking for the means to make your Barcelona stay the best it can be, saddle up with the help of TBT. During the last years I rent several times bikes at this place, they have road/hybrid/city/gravel as well as mountain bike from mid range alu frame to top of rhe range carbon frame. The staff is friendly, there are all passionate cyclist. A mecanic takes a few minute to do the basic maintenance before each rent. So the bikes are always working perfectly! the great thing is that they aloso provide, helmets, bikepacking bags, cycling shoes!Posted on Natalie Ki5 January 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Such a great service provided by Terra BikeTour We were a drop in day rental for di2 road bikes. Both bikes were in great condition and followed one of their suggested routes. English is spoken in shop if needed. Would suggest to make reservations, which is easy.Posted on J G B19 December 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. On arriving to Barcelona for just a few short days of a break (December 2025), I very much had a positive experience in renting a gravel e-bike with Terra Bike Tours. The quality of the bike was great and in excellent working order. Staff member Chiera was professional, technically sharp, and supportive throughout. Outstanding, in fact. Thank-you Chiera and Terra Bike Team for so ably assisting me in connecting with quality cycling in around Barcelona!Posted on Adam Burgener2 December 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is my second time renting from Terrabike tours. They do a great job of service and their bikes are excellent. The gravel bike I rented was great! They provided me many routes for my wahoo computer.
