Day by day
Day 1 · Barcelona to Tossa de Mar
60 km · 900 m
Leave the city behind and follow the Mediterranean north through seaside towns and pine-lined roads. The day ends in Tossa de Mar, whose walled Vila Vella rises straight out of the beach.
Day 2 · Tossa de Mar to Torroella de Montgrí
55 km · 600 m
Cliffs, hidden beaches and traditional Catalan villages as you go deeper into the Costa Brava, finishing at the foot of the Montgrí massif.
Day 3 · Torroella de Montgrí to Cadaqués
66 km · 650 m
Wetlands and rice fields give way to the rocky, wind-shaped landscape of Cap de Creus Natural Park. The descent into whitewashed Cadaqués is one of the most memorable moments of the trip.

Day 4 · Cadaqués to Figueres
50 km
A quieter day inland through vineyards and olive groves to Figueres, home of the Dalí Theatre-Museum. Tonight is in a restored 16th-century farmhouse.
Day 5 · Figueres to Girona
60 km · 700 m
Smooth Empordà back roads and small villages lead to Girona, where the medieval old town and its food scene make the perfect finish line.

When to go and who it is for
Spring and autumn are ideal: warm enough to swim, cool enough to ride, and the coast is calm. Distances are short and the hills are rolling rather than steep, so it suits leisure cyclists, couples and families with teenagers. Add a rest day in Cadaqués if you can.
